Tom's Thumb Trail, Scottsdale Arizona

This was a fabulous hike!  Tom's Thumb Trail had remarkable scenery and was a lot of fun hiking.  There is a large parking lot with complimentary parking.  This place is equipped with bathrooms but there is no running water.  The trail begins as an easy winding gravelly path until you get to the mountain area.  Even in the first part, it gradually goes uphill the whole way. This photo was taken at the base of the mountain.  On the trail is one person, this lends perspective on how large these boulders are. Early in the trail are these outlier boulders. This is about 1/4 of the way up the mountain. Climbing the mountain is reported to be a one-mile hike up.  Many switchbacks are going back and forth to help you to conquer the mountain.  The views along the way are of large boulders and great vistas. You immediately see Tom's Thumb sticking up like a sore thumb at the top of the mountain.  The trail leads you up and over to the right where Tom's Thumb is. You can see Tom&#

Marriott Desert Springs II, Palm Desert, California

This is a great resort to stay at not only are there a multitude of things to do in the Palm Desert area but the rooms are lovely and comfortable. Taken from our balcony. The rooms are updated and large.  The bathroom is extremely large and seemingly split into two parts. The bed is comfortable and an extra TV is in the Primary bedroom.  There are two separate closets that light up when you open them. The kitchen is well equipped with everything that you might need and the living room and dining room are large and comfortable.  This unit was very well lit and I appreciate that. The washing machine and dryer are in a separate closet near the back door. The views are great at this resort with mountain vistas at every turn.  The snow-capped mountains are so pretty and ever-changing. Many fellow Canadians were also staying at this resort.
