Discovery Princess Cruise - Los Angeles to Mexico

  We took an Uber to the Port of Los Angeles, World Cruise Center and we were surprised by their lack of security compared to the Florida ports.  It was quite a smooth drop-off except for the fact that we had to get our bag tags and get into a very long Blue line-up to collect our Medallions and check in.  If we could have had the Medallion shipped to our house then we could have entered the Green line as opposed to the Blue line.  We have not been home for 3 months so it was not an option to have it shipped to our house.  Maybe next time.  I will say that the Medallions were new to us and new technology.  We got the ones on a lanyard to wear around our necks and this was our electronic key to our stateroom and this alerted the bartenders to who we were when charging drinks to our drink plan.  The best thing about the Medallions is that you could locate people on your cruise who were your confirmed shipmates.  We had 11 in our group so this was a fabulous piece of technology to have ar

Marriott Grand Chateau

We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Grand Chateau which is conveniently located just off the strip in the Golden Mile of Las Vegas.  You can walk to many events, restaurants etc. We had a 15th-floor 1-bedroom unit with good views of the 5th-floor pool and New York New York Hotel. The unit was comfortable and large.  The living room decor was not my favorite but it worked. The dining room sat 4 people and the wall behind it seemed like it was missing a long table for tech and your car keys.  There was a space for it and a painting on the bare wall. The kitchen was a typical Marriott kitchen stocked with everything that you need including an ice machine which is a vacation property must-have. The bathroom was split which I love.  It had two sinks a separate bath and stand up shower and one toilet. There was a washing machine and dryer that has become standard in Marriott timeshares.
