Moxy Sydney Airport, Australia

Beautiful view of downtown Sydney from the window on the 12th floor where we were staying. |
Check in was literally at the Bar that is their check-in area and I thought that was very unique and original. You get a poker chip each and that is your coupon for a free drink. However, that free drink only included one type of cocktail that was kind of a sweet concoction that I nor my husband would have drank. The bartender just gave me a glass of Rose instead, which I thought was a good compromise. The check-in person was very professional, very good at his job and I received my free hotel room upgrade due to my membership. It wasn't much of an upgrade but it did enlarge the room slightly and I was placed on a higher floor.
I knew the room was going to be small, but it actually is a bit of a shock when you first walk in because it is not much larger than the size of an inside cabin on a cruise ship. However, they do make such good use of every space including the walls where there were two chairs and a table hanging on the wall as well as other things.
I used the two chairs to put my suitcase on so I could leave it open. My husband used the floor space beside his bed and believe me there's not a lot of floor space in there. The bathroom was a toilet and fairly decent sized shower with a sliding glass door. The sink was out in the room which is a good idea because then you can kind of split the bathroom space. However, that same country style sink was also used for the coffee station and I found that very congested when I actually had to make my coffee in the morning.

The bed was comfortable and queen size.
There were plug-ins on each side of the bed for our cpaps which doesn't always happen. There were night lights and it was a very well lit room. We had large windows which afforded a view of Sydney.
The windows right outside of the elevator had amazing views of downtown Sydney.
There was an ice machine that we could get ice which we always appreciate.
We had supper down in the bar area and we ordered chicken schnitzel which were very good and I drank my free drink. Breakfast was a buffet spread out throughout the kitchen and bar area and it was not amazing. But I did however manage to fill up on some breakfast items. Coffee from the urn was surprisingly good and if I wanted to have a special coffee then I had to pay extra which I thought was kind of chintzy with a Titanium Elite member.
Check out and the shuttle back to the airport was quick and painless. I would not hesitate to book a Moxy Hotel again. It was a fun and unique place to stay as well as comfortable but tight.
