B&B Casa Juarez, La Paz, Mexico

Casa Juarez is located in central La Paz Mexico.  It has been recognized on tripadvisor.ca with a high rating.  La Paz is a large city north of Cabo and this area gives you access to many ocean tours to swim with the whale sharks or seals etc.  Espiritu Island is a Unesco World Heritage site as well.  Unfortunately we missed all of this due to high winds and it was a bit chillier when we were there.  Oh well maybe next time.

At Casa Juarez the rooms are rustic with exactly what you need and really nothing more.
There is a cute little pool for dipping and lounging inside the courtyard and the rooms whether on the first floor or balcony either have a patio or a balcony overlooking the pool.

There is a common area which involves a sitting area and a kitchen bar where they serve the scrumptious breakfasts and coffee.
Silvana and her partner offer a great breakfast fair ,everything from fruit salad to danishes to delicious egg bacon wrapped egg tortillas.  Savannah makes great coffee from her  impressive coffee machine and you are more than full when you leave the place.  In fact she gave us a zip-lock bag to take the leftover breakfast sandwiches and we ate those at the beach.
The casa is is located approximately a 10 minute walk to the Malecon and ocean.

The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent and it wakes you up .
The bed was comfortable and we had a king size and our son had a twin to sleep on in the same room.  My only complaint about the place was that the pillow was low and thin. (bad neck, old volleyball injury)
There was no TV but the internet worked great for streaming on your own individual device.
Silvana gives you several keys when you check in, one is for her front door that gets you into the building, one is for your own personal unit to sleep in and a key for a safe in your room is provided as well.  The fourth key is for a huge gated area to lock up your car.  This car park area is about 100 yards from the Casa.
The area surrounding the casa felt very safe to us.  We walked every night down to the Malecon for supper and during the day and felt safe at all times.  Here are some of the pictures that we took in close vicinity to Casa Juarez.

Its not Mexico without
 a chicken spotting moment.

One of the cooler benches that I have ever laid eyes on.

The casa is located about 10 minute drive from the end of the Malecon where there is a cool rock lookout.  It is a strenuous hike and not easy.  My 66 year old sister packed it in about 75% of the way up.  My son even told me a couple of times that "Mom maybe you shouldn't come up here".  I do like a good challenge and persevered to the top.  There are some very good picture taking moments and it is worth it to climb up.  Take a look at Medusa below.

The above lookout area is on the way to Balandra Beach which is a complete must see.  There are lots of great hikes and beautiful shallow water to explore all of the beaches in the bay.

We enjoyed our stay here at the Casa Juarez.  It is quaint and cute and I would recommend it to anyone.
