Palm Springs Art Museum

Every Thursday night from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Palm Springs City has an open and free night at the Palm Springs Art Museum.  This was a lively place and we decided to check in there first before we went to Village Fest.  It was extremely busy because it was a free night but it was well worth a visit.  We blitzed it in about an hour.

This huge globe was breathtaking.  When you gazed into it, you felt like you were gazing into infinity.  This in itself was worth coming to the Art gallery.

There are works from various artists and there are a lot of historical works such as a Picasso statued figurine.  I did not even know that he worked in this medium.  This one below is called 'Angry Owl'.

There were your standard paintings with lines that sell for millions of dollars and are not really art, such as the below photo.

Yah, I don't get it either?????

There was a glass installation of several pieces that were stunning and that in itself was worth going to the art museum.

I have included some pieces that were visually stunning to me.

There was a large piece made out of crushed cans, which is really more like an art and craft project below, but it was quite interesting to look at.   Up close I could not see the design but when I walked away like all of the pretentious-looking people in Art galleries do, then I could see it.

This installation cracked me up.  These two were real but appeared to be made out of wax.  They were good.  I stared at them for a solid minute and I did not even see a flutter of an eyelash.

This one should be called the Female High School Administrator.

What's not to like? - free parking free art museum- free free free.

There is free parking just around the corner from the Art Museum.
