Residence Inn by Marriott, Los Angeles LAX/Century BLVD, California

We needed one night and a close shuttle to LAX.  This was a fairly new hotel with a new design in its studio rooms that we have never seen before.  In fact, there were quite a few things that we had never seen before in a hotel at this stop.

This place had a great lobby with a beautiful panorama shot of LA.

The kitchen was a full kitchen and we could have cooked a gourmet meal in it.  This had a larger kitchen, better equipped and newer than most timeshares that we have been in.  It had tons of counter space, which was kind of a shame because we did not get a chance to cook in the kitchen.

The bathroom was one of the larger bathrooms that we have seen with a gigantic shower, it was really impressive and I liked the design.  The bed was really comfy but we had to get up early to catch a flight so we did not get to enjoy it long enough.

We were on the 11th floor with great views of LA and the surrounding airport.  Watching planes land and take off is super cool when you are high up in a hotel.  We had a corner room so we had two vantage points.

The free breakfast was adequate with lots of seating.  We were the first ones in when it opened at 7:00 am on the weekend.  The coffee was good and strong.

They do charge for parking but we dropped our car off at Fox and walked to this hotel which is a 10-minute walk down Century BLVD.

When we first got up to our room we noticed that the EXIT signs were also close to the floor in this hotel.  Never have we seen this but it makes perfect sense because smoke rises and would most likely literate the EXIT signs from your sight when they are placed high.  Maybe this is the new safety code and if it isn't, it should be.

When I checked out, I noticed that there was a suitcase weigh scale in the lobby for patrons to use.  This is super helpful because all airlines charge overage fees on suitcases if you aren't in First class.

First-class flights are not a problem for our family because we never take them except once when we had a ton of points from flying 64 flights on our world tour.  We used all of those points to fly Business class to Italy.  We have been moved up a couple of times and my gosh First Class is sweet.  Air Canada once bumped us to First Class on a trans-pacific flight to Hong Kong.  'Died and gone to heaven' was my motto for that flight.  Going back to cattle class was really a downer on the return flight to Canada.  Anyways I digress.  We now fly with a hand-held suitcase weigh scale for the last 13 years.  With this device, we never have to be those people with their suitcases open and exposed on the airport floor, pulling stuff out of our suitcases and trying to adjust the weight so that we don't get charged extra.  'Been there done that', not to mention it is super embarrassing!!  Bravo Residence Inn, I have never seen a weigh scale in a lobby before.

We caught the shuttle to LAX which is every 30 minutes on the half hour and it took 5 minutes to get to the first terminal.

I really liked this hotel and we would return.  If you need a night or a couple of nights extremely close to LAX, then this is your hotel.
