Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas, San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico

Image
We have been vacationing at the tip of the Baja Peninsula for years.  We first came when our son was a baby and he began walking on the beaches of San Jose Del Cabo.  This area is home of my favorite tacos (baja style) and margaritas (on the rocks con sal). Los Cabos or Cabo San Lucas refers to areas around the city or the city itself.  San Jose Del Cabo is closer to the airport and it is its own city now, but it started out as a sleepy little fishing village.  San Jose Del Cabo is famous for its Thursday night Art Walk where everyone comes out to see the local arts and crafts and to eat tamales.  The Art Galleries are open; it is your chance to view art for free and walk around the old town center  with the old church There is free parking surrounding the area. In the old town area of San Jose Del Cabo during the Art Walk on Thursday nights.  Every year that we go, there are more and more people attending this event.  I recommend you go to...

Hacienda del Mar, Los Cabos Mexico

Image
Hacienda del Mar is a lovely resort that is quite spread out with various coloured buildings full of different units.  We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom unit.  Our building 3 was set back the furthest from the beach but it provided a great view of the ocean between the buildings because we were higher up the hill.  This also provided extra daily leg work walking up to our building.  The resort is of a Spanish/Arab influence in the architecture and the resort was very pretty with tons of different plants and trees.  Anyone who appreciates gardens would love this resort.  Flowering plants are everywhere.  One of the first things I do when entering a timeshare unit is to look at the primary bathroom to see if there is a tub.  On holidays I like to soak in a tub after a day in the sun.  So upon looking for the tub, I was disappointed in not finding one in my bathroom.  Then I went to check out the view on the balcony and voila there was a...

B&B Casa Juarez, La Paz, Mexico

Image
Casa Juarez is located in central La Paz Mexico.  It has been recognized on tripadvisor.ca with a high rating.  La Paz is a large city north of Cabo and this area gives you access to many ocean tours to swim with the whale sharks or seals etc.  Espiritu Island is a Unesco World Heritage site as well.  Unfortunately we missed all of this due to high winds and it was a bit chillier when we were there.  Oh well maybe next time. At Casa Juarez the rooms are rustic with exactly what you need and really nothing more.   There is a cute little pool for dipping and lounging inside the courtyard and the rooms whether on the first floor or balcony either have a patio or a balcony overlooking the pool. There is a common area which involves a sitting area and a kitchen bar where they serve the scrumptious breakfasts and coffee.  Silvana and her partner offer a great breakfast fair ,everything from fruit salad to danishes to delicious egg bacon wrapped egg tort...
