JW Marriott, Lima Peru

It is a modern-looking building from the outside and it does not disappoint on the inside.  The lobby is highly unusual looking for a hotel lobby but very pleasing to the eye.  The service was great right from the start.

We checked ourselves in and we were lucky enough to get an upgrade due to my status they put us up in a corner suite with expansive floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows.  These windows also came with electric blinds that with a simple touch of a tiny button all come up or down.  The glass is tinted so we could see the world but the world could not see us.  The views are wonderful full ocean views and the surrounding Miraflores area.  We also had a view of a beautiful ocean park which was quite fancy.

Taken from our corner room 714.

The room was equipped with an illy coffee machine which was very deluxe and nice to work with and marvellous coffee or espresso.

The bed was ultra comfortable so much that I did not want to get out of it.  The bathroom was a beautiful extremely modern design with unique lighting.  The Marble shower was incredible with a wet and dry area.  It could have only been made better with two sinks which I would expect at this level of hotel and a bathtub would have been greatly appreciated.  The suite had the room to accommodate this as the hallway was extraordinarily long and a waste of space.  A closet equipped with a safe had gorgeous doors to accompany it.

Rock wall with a mat black solid surface sink.

Bathroom Box of goodies.

Neat lighting in the toilet room.

Dry area of the Shower

Wet area of the Shower with extra large rainhead shower
which provided a divine shower experience.
Long Hallway with window.

Gorgeous Closet doors.

With Titanium Elite you have full access to the JW Lounge and who does not like complimentary food and beverages all day?  I had a full supper of very tasty food with appetizer, entree, salad, dessert and a lovely Peruvian Sauvignon Blanc every night.  It was nice to be able to go and pick up bottled water with or without gas, for our different hikes through the city.
The huge 20-foot slab of granite over the fireplace in the JW Marriott Executive Lounge.

There is an upscale shopping mall with all of the big American names in front of the hotel which is built into the cliffside.  It was kind of disappointing because we did not come to Peru to see American luxury shops.

The elevators were so pretty when you stepped in, you gave a little gasp.

I highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here again.  It is in the best location in Lima and there is much to do in the area.  Lima is a very interesting and beautiful place to visit and is a little shyer than other big South American cities but someday soon it will come into its own and get the attention that it deserves.  I am glad that we came to know the shy side.
