Pestana Rio Atlantica, Rio de Janiero Brazil on Cococabana Beach

Taken from the Rooftop Bar of Pestana Rio Atlantica.

The Pestana is all about location, placed strategically on the world-famous Cococabana Beach in Rio.  We had a one-bedroom unit exchange through Diamond International and thought that we were getting a kitchen as all other one-bedroom timeshare exchange units around the world come with a kitchen, but this did not.  No worries, this allowed us the chance to taste many Brazilian foods.  The unit did have a bar fridge stock-piled with ridiculously expensive items that we removed for safekeeping to utilize the fridge.
The living room came equipped with a couch, TV, small table and chair.  There was also a small bed in the living room which I am not sure why?  There was a closet in the hallway with a safe that did not work and was not bolted down.  Two complaints later, the safe was working and bolted down.

There was a sliding glass door with a Juliette-styled balcony which faced the ocean for a view.

The bathroom had a nice shower that was used twice a day by me because Rio is hot and sticky.  We had 3 pump bottles of Shampoo and no shower gel.  Have you ever shampooed your body before, it doesn't really work that well.

The bedroom was large with a nice hard king bed and TV but without any storage for clothes, which was strange because there was room for a chest of drawers.  There was another Juliette Balcony in the bedroom.

The area is surrounded by restaurants all within walking distance, bakeries, grocery stores, convenience stores, pharmacies and more.  We found some great restaurants and bakeries.

It is a lively area very busy and the beach is packed on the weekends.  Uber pick-ups were easy to achieve.  There are some homeless in the surrounding area but for the most part, we felt safe walking around at night.

Beautiful endless views of Copacabana Beach and beyond.

There is a strong '70s vibe going on in the unit it has multiple mirrors.

It is a decent place to stay and I would give it a solid 3 star.  Pestana Rio Atlantica could be a 4-star if it fixed up some maintenance concerns changed out the furniture and remodeled the rooms which I believe it is in the process of.
The floor was beat-up and needed to be replaced.

Weather-stripping peeling from the sliding glass doors.

The floor around the balcony door is an example of very poor craftsmanship.
