Four Points by Sheraton Cuenca, Ecuador

The Four Points by Sheraton was surprisingly a very nice new and modern hotel.  I wasn't expecting much with its 3-star ranking but I was.  I would give it a solid 4-star rank.  It is new and shiny with a lot of marble and a cool design.  The staff is quite helpful and knowledgeable.

View of Cuenca and surrounding mountains.

The hotel is right behind the Mall and is set on a hill which provides it with excellent views of the city and surrounding mountains.  We have a complimentary buffet breakfast every morning which comes with my Marriott status.  We received an upgrade to a one-bedroom suite which is lovely and large with a dining room, living room separate bedroom and two bathrooms and coffee area.  My only complaints are that we do not have a bathtub in either of the bathrooms and the monster TV is in the bedroom and not the living room, strange.  The Monster TV is equipped with Netflix which is super nice to have since most of the channels are Spanish of course.  The last complaint is that the large windows are not very soundproof and only one thick single pane.  There is a trucking company beside the mall and loud trucks are heard all day and night.  To get away from the sound you would have to be higher than floor 5.

The bed is super comfy and we have over 850 square feet to ourselves.  There are two closets for storage and we have a safe for our passports.

I would recommend this hotel for its comfort, style and views.

Very modern double vessel sinks in the Master bathroom.

The desk area in the bedroom.

Heavy sliding door that separates the bedroom from the rest of the suite.

Second washroom in the hallway.
