Pestana Vila Lido Madeira Island, Portugal

Pestana Lido is a nice timeshare. We were in the apartment section and we had a one-bedroom unit. It was a little dated but they had made some updates to the kitchen area and flooring etc. We were right on the ocean with an ocean front room, which were nice. We had a nice balcony to sit on and it was hot and sunny during the day. 

The living room was large with a large TV and large dining room area. Our bedroom was a good size with a closet and a large TV. The bathroom was large with the most excellent shower. The only thing that wasn't was the kitchen and it was a small. It had everything except the oven but a very tiny counter space. They could have organized it differently and literally tripled their counter space by moving one wall and lengthening the counter. There was a bit of a struggle while trying to cook. 

The staff was very helpful and friendly. We appreciated that. 

Parking is at a premium. There are very few spots and if you want one, you book it for the whole week of your stay for 15 Euro per day. You receive a gate opener to let you in and out of this paid parking that belongs to the timeshare 

Directly across the street is a Pico Doce grocery store which is quite large and has everything that you would want or need. There are countless restaurants within walking distance. Our favorite was Alforno. The promenade is right there to walk an hour down along the ocean if you wish. 

It's an extremely walkable town if you don't mind the steep hills. Going up and down hills can be very strenuous and exhausting but good exercise 

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Pestana Vila Lido and the location was great in this beautiful city of Funchal on Madeira Island, Portugal.
