Villa del Palmar Flamingos Nuevo Vallarta

Image
We enjoyed our stay at the Villa del Palmar Flamingos which is a small resort on the Pacific Ocean in Nayarit or Nuevo Vallarta.  There is a very long, wide beach to walk on.  It is very safe and you can walk for hours. The second day that we were there, I went to get up off the lounge chair and Darren yelled at me not to step down.  There were two baby turtles that had made their way to the sand surface.  They looked close to death and most likely had been sitting out in the hot sun all day.  Darren very gingerly began to dig out the turtle's brothers and sisters and we counted 91 baby turtles.  Staff was alerted and they brought a pail, we released them at dusk which significantly increases their chance of survival from birds of prey etc.  We have released baby turtles before on the Caribbean side of Mexico but this was our first time discovering a turtle nest.  It caused quite a stir and most of the people on the beach that day made their way over to Darren digging out the hatch

Thanks for looking at my blog. I first started blogging in 2010 to record our Family World Tour which was during the 2010/2011 school year as my husband and I were both high school administrators who took that school year off to travel with our 6-year-old son Daxtin.  A year of travelling through over 30  countries goes by in a blur and is easy to forget all of the wonderful things that we did.  A blog captures the essence of the day and is a written record for me when I get too senile to remember.  All of my photos are attached as well to my first blog.  If you want to view it please see the link below. My World Tour Blog I am now retired as of June 2022 and Darren my husband retired years ago and runs the Canadian Elite Volleyball Academy.  I thought that it was time again to blog.  I have lots of time and we will be visiting tons of different timeshare resorts, which I love to critique.   I despise winter and driving in the snow and ice, so we will escape that as much as we can fo
